Lucy Lunceford and Kaylee Dufrene improved a combined 15 strokes between them while finishing 14th and tied for 15th, respectively, during East Mississippi Community College’s spring-opening women’s golf competition played at Azalea City Golf Course in Mobile, Ala. The two-day Snead State Invitational concluded Tuesday.

The inaugural East Mississippi Community College women’s golf team earned its second championship of the fall season by outdistancing the three-team field earlier this week at the Meridian CC-hosted Jim Redgate Invitational played at Briarwood Golf Club.

The East Mississippi Community College women’s golf program made a dominant debut by claiming team and individual medalist honors at this week’s EMCC Invitational held at Tunica National. Playing at the same venue this past Monday and Tuesday in Tunica Resorts, the EMCC men placed seventh among the 11-team field consisting of conference foes in the MACCC Region Preview tournament.

East Mississippi Community College is set to make history within its athletics program when the EMCC women’s golf team officially competes on the links for the first time at this week’s MACCC Fall Preview at Tunica National. Slated to tee off Monday, the two-day, EMCC-hosted invitational tournament (Sept. 16-17) will mark the opening of the 2024-25 MACCC men’s golf conference schedule in addition to serving as a preview competition for next spring’s NJCAA Gulf District Championship to also be hosted by EMCC.
