EMCC Athletic Training Student Application
ATHLETIC TRAINING AS A PROFESSION
The sports medicine program at East Mississippi Community College is a great way to learn more about athletic training. The program is helpful for those students who are interested in pursuing a career in athletic training or just want to learn more about the profession.
Athletic training students will be introduced to sports medicine principles and will receive valuable hands-on experience at the community college level. The experience gained at EMCC will make for an easy transition into a four-year athletic training education program or help with entrance into physical therapy school.
WHAT DO ATHLETIC TRAINING STUDENTS DO AT EMCC?
Athletic training students help cover the five sports located on the Scooba campus - football, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball. Students will cover team practices and home games in addition to traveling to away competitions with their assigned sport. Athletic training students will also help treat and rehabilitate injuries in the athletic training room. Overall, student trainers help improve the quality of EMCC's sports medicine program.
