Complete-game pitching performances by Trace Tingle and Chipper Moore lifted the East Mississippi Community College Lions to their first conference doubleheader sweep of the baseball season with 9-1 and 11-1 home wins over Coahoma during Wednesday’s MACCC action played at Gerald Poole Field.

East Mississippi Community College’s baseball team successfully capped off a demanding home week against preseason-ranked MACCC competition by sweeping 12th-ranked Jones College, 16-11 and 3-1, during Friday’s non-conference action played at EMCC’s Gerald Poole Field.
In their first look at MACCC baseball competition on the year, the Lions of East Mississippi Community College limited Holmes to one hit in a 6-3 neutral-site win during Tuesday’s non-conference road action. In the nightcap of the three-team, round-robin event, preseason fifth-ranked Pearl River topped EMCC by a similar 6-2 final at PRCC’s Dub Herring Park.
East Mississippi Community College’s baseball team improved to 9-3 on the season by sweeping preseason-ranked opponents Wallace Community College-Dothan and host Chipola College on consecutive days at Jeff Johnson Field. The EMCC Lions first knocked off CC and WCCD by respective scores of 15-9 and 13-5 on Friday and then came back the following day to prevail again 10-7 and 7-3, respectively, over the same two teams.
East Mississippi Community College’s baseball team split home-and-home doubleheaders with Snead State this past week with each team bouncing back from lopsided opening-game home setbacks with come-from-behind, one-run nightcap victories. This past Saturday in Boaz, Alabama, EMCC won 15-3 in the opener before falling 4-3 in walk-off fashion to the Parsons in the second game. Two days prior in Scooba, the Lions rebounded from an identical 15-3 home defeat in the series opener to claim a 5-4 comeback win over Snead in the nightcap.
The East Mississippi Community College baseball team opened the 2025 season by winning three of four games from Marion Military Institute during a home-and-home series played this past week. The Lions swept MMI 2-0 and 5-1 during Thursday’s doubleheader played in Scooba before splitting with the Tigers two days later with a 13-3 win followed by a 10-7 loss in Marion, Alabama.

Coming off the program’s winningest season in 10 years, the 2025 East Mississippi Community College baseball team is set to open the new campaign with a pair of home-and-home series against Alabama-based Marion Military Institute and Snead State Community College.
