EMCC freshman southpaw Trace Tingle tabbed MACCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

JACKSON – East Mississippi Community College freshman left-hander Trace Tingle has been named the MACCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his two-hit complete game in the Lions' 4-1 nightcap win over then-No. 1 East Central a week ago in Scooba.
Tingle, from Pascagoula, only allowed an unearned run while striking out nine ECCC batters and walking five over seven innings of work to improve to 3-0 on the year with his second complete game.
On the season, Tingle has struck out 28 hitters with 11 walks over 27.1 total innings in six pitching appearances. He has posted a 2.96 earned run average and opponents are hitting .252 against him for the year.
A product of Resurrection Catholic School, Tingle was selected to the 2024 Class 1A Mississippi High School Baseball Coaches All-State First Team after compiling a 10-0 pitching record with an 0.79 ERA for the Eagles. He was also named to the Biloxi Sun Herald's Starting Nine as one of South Mississippi's best players, regardless of position.
Head coach Brett Kimbrel's 14-10 EMCC Lions (1-3 in MACCC) are playing a 3 p.m. road doubleheader Tuesday (March 18) against the Northeast Mississippi Tigers in Booneville.
