The East Mississippi Community College basketball teams swept visiting Coahoma Community College handily during MACJC North Division play Thursday night at EMCC's Keyes T. Currie Coliseum. After the Lady Lions remained unbeaten in division play with a commanding 102-58 victory to begin the night, the Lions completed the sweep with a much-needed 97-71 triumph in the nightcap.

The East Mississippi Community College basketball teams recorded their third MACJC doubleheader sweep of the young season with a pair of road wins over Pearl River Community College Thursday evening at Marvin R. White Coliseum. The visiting Lady Lions held on for a 46-44 victory over the PRCC women in the opener, while the Lions remained unbeaten on the year with a 66-55 nightcap triumph over the NJCAA's preseason 12th-ranked team.

Unlike a year ago when they began the campaign with a roster full of newcomers, the East Mississippi Community College Lady Lions will open the much-anticipated basketball season with a handful of familiar faces under the direction of 11th-year head coach Sharon Thompson.
