Rain forecast postpones EMCC's scheduled Friday home softball DH with Northwest Mississippi to Monday
Predicted rain for Friday and Saturday over much of Mississippi has forced postponement of East Mississippi Community College's scheduled Friday home softball doubleheader against Northwest Mississippi. EMCC will now play host to the NWCC Rangers on Monday in a 3 p.m. twin bill to be played on the Scooba campus.
SCOOBA – Predicted rain for Friday and Saturday over much of Mississippi has forced postponement of East Mississippi Community College's scheduled Friday home softball doubleheader against Northwest Mississippi. EMCC will now play host to the NWCC Rangers on Monday in a 3 p.m. twin bill to be played on the Scooba campus.
Coach Kyndall White's 19-13 EMCC Lady Lions are currently tied with Northwest (17-10) for second place in the MACJC North Division's softball standings with identical 8-4 marks. Both teams presently trail division-leading and 19th-ranked Itawamba (18-9, 10-2) by two games.
Looking to avenge getting swept by Northwest Mississippi, 6-4, 5-3, in Senatobia at the beginning of the month, East Mississippi most recently split a home doubleheader against Itawamba last Saturday in Scooba. The Lady Lions bounced back from a 9-7 setback in the opener to earn the split with a 6-3 nightcap victory over ICC.
