EMCC men finish fourth at Three Rivers College rodeo in Missouri
The East Mississippi Community College men’s rodeo team earned a fourth-place finish at the Three Rivers Championship College Rodeo this past weekend. The three-day Ozark Region event concluded Saturday on the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo grounds at the Art Saunders Arena.

The Lions claimed all but 10 of their 290 total team points in the team roping competition. Highlighted by a third-place tie in the opening round with a 7.4-second effort, the EMCC tandem of Tyler Brooks (South Fulton, TN) and Scooba's Matt Watt placed third overall in the event with 190 combined points.
Right behind them, the duo comprised of EMCC's reigning College National Finals Rodeo participant Tanner Brown (Florence) and former Lions teammate Laine Moore, now with Northwest Mississippi, benefitted from a 7.0-second, first-round clocking to finish fourth in TRC's team roping competition.
Watt, a Kemper Academy product, earned EMCC's other 10 team points in tie-down roping this past week at Three Rivers College.
Missouri Valley College claimed its third straight men's team title of the Ozark Region's fall rodeo slate by totaling 750 team points. West Alabama and Northwest Mississippi followed in men's competition with 610 and 525 team points, respectively.
In the women's standings, Pearl River edged reigning Ozark Region champion West Alabama by 15 points (485-470) this past weekend at TRC. UT Martin was third with 425 team points. The EMCC women did not place in the final team scoring.
Head coach Morgan Goodrich's East Mississippi rodeo teams will continue Ozark Region fall competition at the Southern Arkansas University-hosted event, Nov. 2-4, in Magnolia, Ark. Two weeks later (Nov. 16-18), EMCC wraps up fall rodeo action at Murray State University in Kentucky.
