EMCC Lions finish eighth in ECCC Warrior Invitational at Dancing Rabbit
Putting together a pair of consistent rounds of golf, East Mississippi Community College placed eighth as a team in this week’s ECCC Warrior Invitational played at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club. The two-day tournament, hosted by East Central Community College, concluded Tuesday afternoon.

Coming off their spring-opening, fourth-place team finish last month at the PRCC Wildcat Invitational in Pass Christian, the EMCC Lions carded rounds of 317 and 318 for a two-day total of 635 on The Oaks' 6,991-yard, par-72 layout at Dancing Rabbit.
Individually for East Mississippi, Matthew Phillips (77-77) and Carter Martin (76-78) finished among a six-way tie for 17th place with scores of 154. EMCC's Spence Davis followed one stroke behind by tying for 23rd place with rounds of 76 and 79.
Completing EMCC's scorecard this week were Daniel Martin (88-84—172) and Ben Boggan (94-89—183), who finished 54th and 59th, respectively.
Mississippi Gulf Coast (280-288—568) once again dominated the 11-team MACCC field by claiming a 43-stroke victory over team runner-up Hinds (308-303—611). Northeast Mississippi (304-310—614) and Meridian (304-311—615) followed in third and fourth place, respectively.
Gulf Coast's Chase Kaiser fired sub-par rounds of 68 and 69 to hold off runner-up Gage Miller of host East Central (74-65—139) for individual medalist honors. MGCCC teammates Kyle Davidson (70-71—141), Will Burnham (70-72—142) and Jackson Wise (68-74—142) rounded out the top five on the player leaderboard.
Head coach Ashton Maddaloni's EMCC Lions are slated to step out of conference play by participating in the Delta State University-hosted Derrall Foreman Invitational, March 13-14, on the Samuel T. Dunning Golf Course at the Cleveland Country Club.
