MOBILE, Ala. – With 17 made 3-pointers in the contest, the Lions of East Mississippi Community College rang up a big 108-56 road win over Spring Hill College's junior varsity team Monday night at the Outlaw Rec Center.
With their starters seeing minimal action to receive some needed rest, the Lions owned an insurmountable 52-21 halftime advantage. Adding 11 second-half 3-pointers, the visitors breezed to the easy 52-point triumph in their final non-conference action of the regular season.
For head coach Billy Begley's 14-4 EMCC Lions, Lafayette High School product Montrael Nabors tallied 15 of his career-high 23 points after halftime. In contrast, West Point's Ecurb Forest scored 14 of his career-best 21 points during the opening 20 minutes of play.
However, the hot-shooting award in the lop-sided victory went to Quitman's Anterio McKines, who drained six second-half shots from beyond the three-point arc to score all of his career-most 19 points following intermission. Starkville's Jontavius Baker added a dozen points for the winners.
