NJCAA Football Champion EMCC Lions Honored in Mississippi State Senate Wednesday
East Mississippi Community College's 2013 NJCAA National Championship football team was honored Wednesday morning at the Mississippi State Senate in Jackson with the presentation of Senate Concurrent Resolution 520.
JACKSON -- East Mississippi Community College's 2013 NJCAA National Championship football team was honored Wednesday morning at the Mississippi State Senate in Jackson with the presentation of Senate Concurrent Resolution 520.
Guided by head football coach Buddy Stephens, the 2013 EMCC Lions captured their second NJCAA National Championship in three seasons by claiming a 52-32 victory over Georgia Military College last December at the Mississippi Bowl played in Biloxi. The 2013 Lions also won their third MACJC State/NJCAA Region 23 football championship in five years as well as earning their fifth MACJC North Division regular-season title in six seasons under Stephens' guidance.
