EMCC's Mighty Lion Band to be featured on Wednesday's season debut of "Inside Mississippi JUCO Football"
East Mississippi Community College's Mighty Lion Band will be featured during Wednesday's premiere of "Inside Mississippi JUCO Football." Spotlighting the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC), the weekly TV program will air on Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) throughout the state of Mississippi.
SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College's Mighty Lion Band will be featured during Wednesday's premiere of "Inside Mississippi JUCO Football." Spotlighting the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC), the weekly TV program will air on Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) throughout the state of Mississippi.
Highlighting the athletic and academic progress of Mississippi's 15 community colleges, "Inside Mississippi JUCO Football" is scheduled to make 12 consecutive weekly appearances on MPB beginning Wednesday at 10 p.m. MPB's eight statewide digital television coverage areas include Biloxi (WMAH), Booneville (WMAE), Bude (WMAU), Greenwood (WMAO), Jackson (WMPN), Meridian (WMAW), Mississippi State (WMAB) and Oxford (WMAV).
A joint partnership between the MACJC, Stockyard Productions, LLC (www.jucoweekly.org) and Mississippi Public Broadcasting, Wednesday's senior premiere of "Inside Mississippi JUCO Football" will also feature game highlights and post-game interviews from last Thursday's JUCO Weekly MACJC Football Game of the Week between the victorious EMCC Lions and the home-standing Wildcats of Pearl River.
Wednesday's program will showcase an inside look at EMCC's Mighty Lion Band, including footage of the school's newly renovated band hall. In addition, interviews with school administrators, EMCC Director of Bands Steve Stringer and student band members are scheduled to be shown this week as well as during next week's airing of "Inside Mississippi JUCO Football," along with game highlights and post-game interviews of this week's featured JUCO Weekly MACJC Football Game of the Week pitting head coach Buddy Stephens' EMCC Lions and traditional gridiron rival East Central Community College.
Designed to showcase the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges' athletic achievements and academic accomplishments, "Inside Mississippi JUCO Football" is slated to be taped weekly on the state's various community college campuses. Along with including a league-wide weekly scoreboard, updated statistics and standings, MACJC sports headlines, and segments on successful Mississippi junior college athletes who have moved onto the four-year level and professional ranks, the 30-minute TV show will also feature a weekly community college spotlight segment focusing on the many educational and professional job training courses offered by each of the state's 15 community colleges.
