East Mississippi Community College announces 2024-25 cheerleading team
The East Mississippi Community College cheerleading team for the 2024-25 academic year has been announced by EMCC cheer coach Danielle McDade.
SCOOBA — The East Mississippi Community College cheerleading team for the 2024-25 academic year has been announced by EMCC cheer coach Danielle McDade.
This year's 16-person EMCC cheerleading squad will consist of eight returning team members, two first-year sophomores and six incoming freshmen. The eight returning team members are Kylie Brown (Mathiston, MS/Choctaw County HS), Jada Harris (Starkville, MS/Starkville HS), Braylee Johnson (Collinsville, MS/Kemper Academy), Taylor Lewis (Meridian, MS/Southeast Lauderdale HS), Kymiah McCann (Mendenhall, MS/Magee HS), Makenna Reesor (Kiln, MS/Hancock HS), Joslyn Turner (Meridian, MS/Northeast Lauderdale HS), and Kristian Weatherby (Columbus, MS/Columbus HS).
EMCC's Leo the Lion mascot, Jamario Payton (Weir, MS/Choctaw County HS), also returns for his second year as a member of East Mississippi's 2024-25 spirit squad.
Returning Scooba student Trynitee Overstreet (Louisville, MS/Louisville HS) and Alcorn State University transfer Madison Perkins (Starkville, MS/Starkville HS) make up the sophomore tandem who will be participating as first-year cheer team members for the Lions during the 2024-25 academic year.
EMCC's group of six incoming freshman cheerleaders is comprised of Addie Bergeron (Lawrence, MS/Newton County Academy), Tyler Carter (West Point, MS/Oak Hill Academy), Huy Le (Starkville, MS/Starkville HS), Abi Stewart (Philadelphia, MS/Neshoba Central HS), and former South Lamar School teammates Armani Hunter and Carlee Parker from Millport and Ethelsville, Ala., respectively.
