SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College is in the process of recruiting a new mascot for the school's 2016-17 cheerleading team.

EMCC's "Leo the Lion" mascot will be responsible for promoting school spirit and leading crowds at athletic sporting events.  Scholarship opportunities for the position are available.  

Anyone planning to attend EMCC during the upcoming academic year who is interested in trying out for the position should contact EMCC cheer coach Delaney Miller at 662-476-5464 or mmiller@eastms.edu.

With only a few roster spots still available, East Mississippi is also slated to hold final cheerleading tryouts on Friday (June 17), beginning at 5 p.m. at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum on the Scooba campus.
