SCOOBA – Current Mississippi State University cheer captain Delaney Miller has been hired as East Mississippi Community College's new head cheerleading coach.

"I am very grateful and truly humbled that I have been chosen for the cheer coach position here at East Mississippi Community College," Miller said. "I'm so thankful to the EMCC administration for giving me this opportunity to further my cheerleading career in a new and exciting way by being able to mentor these talented cheer squad members here at EMCC."
Upon graduating from Magnolia Heights High School in Senatobia, Miller earned a cheerleading scholarship to Central Arkansas. She was a member of the Bears' 2011-12 cheer squad that won the Small Coed category at the NCA (National Cheerleaders Association) College Nationals held in Daytona Beach, Florida.

While covering the Midwest territory for UCA, she taught cheerleading skills to junior high and high school students in addition to providing assessments and performance grade sheets during numerous camps.
Miller has also mentored and choreographed during FCA cheerleading camps across the Midwest during her college days. For her efforts as a huddle leader and camp devotionist, she was chosen the FCA's Christian Athlete of the Month in the organization's July 2013 magazine edition.
"I'm very eager to continue making EMCC's well-respected cheer program one that we can all be proud of," Miller continued. "I look forward to utilizing the experiences I've gained at Mississippi State by creating a similar competitive environment here at East Mississippi."
Locally in Mississippi, Miller has also served as a cheerleading coach for the Columbus-based Full Out Cheer group since 2012 while attending Mississippi State.
