EMCC to host MHSAA Middle School Basketball Invitational on Scooba campus

For the fourth consecutive year, East Mississippi Community College has been selected to serve as a tournament host for this month’s MHSAA Middle School Basketball Invitational. As announced by the Mississippi High School Activities Association, EMCC has been chosen as one of eight community college/university campuses throughout the state to serve as host sites for this weekend’s opening-round play. Tournament action is slated to begin Friday and Saturday (Jan. 16-17) and continue through the final two weekends (Jan. 23-24 & Jan. 30-31) of the month.

The Lions of East Mississippi Community College enjoyed a successful holiday trip to the Show Me State this past week by posting a pair of double-digit wins at the Bank of Grandin Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Three Rivers College. EMCC bounced back from an 88-72 Thursday night setback to the host TRC Raiders with solid victories the next two days over Wabash Valley College (84-62) and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (95-85) at the Libla Family Sports Complex in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
