EMCC Lady Lions represented on MACJC All-State First Team by Ki-Ki Patterson and Quantesha Patterson
East Mississippi Community College's Ki-Ki Patterson and Quantesha Patterson have been named to the 2015-16 MACJC All-State/North Division First Team, as voted on by the MACJC's head women's basketball coaches and announced Monday by the Jackson-based Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges.
SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College's Ki-Ki Patterson and Quantesha Patterson have been named to the 2015-16 MACJC All-State/North Division First Team, as voted on by the MACJC's head women's basketball coaches and announced Monday by the Jackson-based Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges.
A former prep All-American from Columbus High School, Ki-Ki Patterson repeated as a first-team all-state selection for head coach Sharon Thompson's 13-9 EMCC Lady Lions after averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game as a sophomore. She also shot 45 percent from the field and 64 percent from the line this past season.
Having started all 46 games of her East Mississippi career, Ki-Ki Patterson totaled 668 points (14.5 ppg), 179 rebounds (3.9 rpg), 95 assists (2.1 apg) and 63 steals (1.4 spg) in helping lead the Lady Lions to a 25-21 composite overall record. As an EMCC freshman after transferring from Mississippi State University, she averaged a team-best 14.0 points along with 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals per contest a year ago.
A three-time MACJC Player of the Week recipient this season, Quantesha Patterson ranks 10th among the NJCAA's Division I scoring leaders with an average of 20.4 points per game, including four 30-point efforts. The product of East Webster High School's Class 2A state championship team also ranks second nationally in field-goal percentage (65.8%). While also averaging a team-leading 10.6 rebounds an outing, she registered 13 double-doubles on the season. In addition, the Maben native also led EMCC as a freshman by averaging 2.2 steals and 1.2 blocks per contest.
EMCC's Patterson tandem was joined on the MACJC's All-North Division First Team by Northwest Mississippi's Sara Lytle, Aja Williams of Holmes and Coahoma's Eugenia Gilliam.
