No. 26 EMCC Lions prevail 87-77 at Georgia Highlands in season road opener

ROME, Ga. – Jarekious Bradley, the NJCAA's leading scorer, pumped in a game-high 32 points to lead the 26th-ranked Lions of East Mississippi Community College to an 87-77 road win over Georgia Highlands College Monday night on the GHC campus.
Entering the contest averaging 30 points per game, Bradley tallied 21 of his 32 points in the opening 20 minutes of play to stake the visitors to a 45-40 halftime lead. The sophomore transfer from Memphis East High School by way of Midland College in Texas posted his third straight 30-point effort of the year.
Coach Mark White's EMCC Lions, now 3-1 on the year after not having played since Nov. 12, built their lead to double digits six minutes into the second half and never relinquished control of the contest the remainder of the way. Freshman guard Jacolby Mobley, a Starkville High School product, added a season-high 25 points to the winning effort.
In their first season of collegiate competition, the home-standing Chargers remained winless in seven decisions on the year. The GHC men were led by Femi Ojuolape's 15 points.
The East Mississippi basketball teams remain on the road to tip off MACJC North Division play at Holmes Community College Thursday evening in Goodman. A 6 p.m. women's contest at Frank Branch Coliseum will be followed by the three-time reigning division champion EMCC Lions taking on the host Bulldogs at 8 p.m.
