Reigning NJCAA football champion EMCC to host “Meet the Lions” event Wednesday on Scooba campus
Fans will have their first opportunity to check out the two-time reigning NJCAA football champion Lions of East Mississippi Community College during Wednesday’s (Aug. 21) scheduled “Meet the Lions” event on the Scooba campus. Festivities are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. at EMCC’s Sullivan-Windham Field, and admission is free of charge.
SCOOBA – Fans will have their first opportunity to check out the two-time reigning NJCAA football champion Lions of East Mississippi Community College during Wednesday's (Aug. 21) scheduled "Meet the Lions" event on the Scooba campus. Festivities are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. at EMCC's Sullivan-Windham Field, and admission is free of charge.
Along with introductions of members of the Lions football team and coaching staff, EMCC's Mighty Lion Band and cheerleading team are set to perform during the scheduled one-hour event.
Coach Buddy Stephens' EMCC Lions will open the upcoming 2019 football season on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Hinds Community College in Raymond. Kickoff time for the season opener is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Gene Murphy Field at Joe Renfroe Stadium. EMCC will then open its home schedule the following Thursday (Sept. 5) by playing host to the Wildcats of Pearl River Community College. The Lions' home opener will kick off at 7 p.m. at Sullivan-Windham Field on the Scooba campus.
