East Mississippi Community College to host “Meet the Lions” football event Wednesday in Scooba
In advance of next week’s season football opener, the reigning national champion and preseason No. 1-ranked Lions of East Mississippi Community College will take part in a “Meet the Lions” event Wednesday evening (Aug. 22) on the Scooba campus. Festivities are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan-Windham Field.
SCOOBA – In advance of next week's season football opener, the reigning national champion and preseason No. 1-ranked Lions of East Mississippi Community College will take part in a "Meet the Lions" event Wednesday evening (Aug. 22) on the Scooba campus. Festivities are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan-Windham Field.
Along with introductions of members of the Lions football team and coaching staff, EMCC's Mighty Lion Band and cheerleading team will perform during the scheduled one-hour event. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
Coach Buddy Stephens' EMCC Lions will open the 2018 football season on Thursday, Aug. 30, with a home game against the preseason 13th-ranked Hinds Eagles. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Sullivan-Windham Field in Scooba.
