Predicted rain moves up EMCC's baseball doubleheader at East Central to Thursday afternoon in Decatur
Due to forecasted rain later in the week, East Mississippi Community College's road baseball doubleheader against rival East Central Community College has been moved up one day to Thursday afternoon on the Decatur campus. First pitch is now set for 4 p.m. Thursday at ECCC's Clark/Gay Baseball Complex.

Rewarded for their recent 11-game winning streak by moving up to No. 14 nationally in this week's NJCAA Division II baseball poll, head coach Chris Rose's 17-7 EMCC Lions are presently tied with No. 1-ranked Hinds Community College atop the MACJC baseball standings with identical 11-1 conference records. Most recently, EMCC extended its win string to 11 consecutive games with a 9-7 win over rival Meridian Community College Tuesday afternoon in Scooba before dropping the nightcap to the visiting Eagles by an 8-7 final tally in eight innings.
The East Central Warriors are currently tied with Northwest Mississippi for third place in the MACJC baseball standings with identical 10-4 league marks. ECCC owns a 17-9 overall record on the season.
Along with No. 14 East Mississippi and top-ranked Hinds in this week's NJCAA Division II Top 20 national poll, the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) is also represented by 10th-ranked Jones County Junior College and new entry Meridian Community College at the No. 19 spot.
