SCOOBA – Due to continuing rain and wet field conditions, East Mississippi Community College's scheduled Saturday road baseball doubleheader at Jones County Junior College has been pushed back one day to Sunday.
Sunday's doubleheader in Ellisville is set for a 2 p.m. start at JCJC's Community Bank Park and is scheduled to be aired live on www.jcjc.tv.
Having also had their scheduled Wednesday doubleheader at Mississippi Delta postponed until later in the season because of rain, head coach Chris Rose's 8-6 EMCC Lions opened conference play with last Saturday's road doubleheader sweep (9-2 & 7-3) over Southwest Mississippi in Summit.
Preseason 11th-ranked Jones County Junior College is 14-4 overall and 1-1 in MACJC play to begin the season.
A month ago on the Scooba campus, EMCC and JCJC split a Feb. 10 twinbill with the Lions earning an 8-0 shutout victory in the nightcap after dropping a 4-2 decision to the Bobcats in game one.
