Fifth-ranked EMCC Lions postpone home baseball doubleheader against Itawamba to 1 p.m. Sunday due to rain

With more rain expected overnight Friday, EMCC's scheduled Saturday home baseball doubleheader against division rival Itawamba Community College has been postponed to 1 p.m. Sunday at Gerald Poole Field on the Scooba campus.

With more rain expected overnight Friday, EMCC's scheduled Saturday home baseball doubleheader against division rival Itawamba Community College has been postponed to 1 p.m. Sunday at Gerald Poole Field on the Scooba campus.
Earlier in the week because of the rain forecast, head coach Kyndall White's EMCC Lady Lions (19-13, 8-4) postponed their scheduled Friday home softball doubleheader versus Northwest Mississippi (17-10, 8-4) to 3 p.m. Monday on the Scooba campus.
Coach Chris Rose's fifth-ranked EMCC Lions will enter Sunday's baseball doubleheader against Itawamba sporting a 19-7 overall record after most recently splitting a road twin bill with Northwest Mississippi this past Wednesday in Senatobia. The Lions also enter this weekend's baseball action tied with Northeast Mississippi (13-11) atop the MACJC's North Division standings with identical 6-2 division marks. Both EMCC and Northeast lead Mississippi Delta (16-10, 7-3) by percentage points. Itawamba presently stands fifth in the standings behind Northwest Mississippi (15-11, 5-5) with a 4-4 division mark and 14-10 overall record.
