Coach Chris Rose's 13-5 EMCC Lions jumped 10 notches in this week's NJCAA Division II baseball poll that was released Tuesday. Unbeaten in six outings versus fellow Division II foes this season with doubleheader sweeps over MACJC South Division members Hinds, East Central and Pearl River, East Mississippi is also 7-5 against NJCAA Division I schools, including a pair of doubleheader splits with rival Meridian Community College.
Once-beaten Jones County Junior College (17-1) ascended to this week's No. 1 spot in the NJCAA Division II baseball poll after ranking seventh previously.
