EMCC to offer team and individual basketball camps for boys and girls in June on Scooba campus

SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College will offer team and individual summer basketball camps for boys and girls during the month of June on the Scooba campus.

The month will tip off with EMCC men's basketball coach Billy Begley conducting a Young Lion Individual Camp, June 1-2, at EMCC's Keyes T. Currie Coliseum.  Open to males between kindergarten and eighth grade, the two-day individual camp will take place each day from 9 a.m. to noon at a cost of $25 per day.

The Lions' team basketball camps are scheduled to take place June 4, 5 and 7 as well as June 11, 12 and 14.  Camp fees are $75 per boys' team with all teams guaranteed three games.  Please contact Coach Begley (wbegley@eastms.edu or 662-476-5138) for additional information on the EMCC-hosted boys' team and individual basketball camps.

On the women's side, EMCC Lady Lions basketball coach Sharon Thompson will hold team camps, June 6 and 13, on the Scooba campus.  Available to females within various competitive divisions (middle school, high school, junior varsity and AAU), the cost of the women's team camp is $150 per team/per date. 

The Lady Lions are also slated to offer a two-day Skills Camp, June 18-19, which will focus on fundamentals from 1-4 p.m. each afternoon.  With campers being divided by age and skill level from grades K-12, the overall camp fee is $40 for all age groups and includes a T-shirt.  For more information on the EMCC-hosted girls' team and individual basketball camps, please contact Coach Thompson (sthompson@eastms.edu or 662-476-5140).
