EMCC golfers place seventh at Wolf Hollow in MACJC’s second fall event
The East Mississippi Community College men’s golf team finished in seventh place during the MACJC’s second fall event held this past weekend at Wolf Hollow Golf Course. The two-day tournament hosted by Copiah-Lincoln Community College concluded Sunday afternoon.

The EMCC Lions posted rounds of 328 and 330 for a two-day team score of 658. Meridian Community College fired a 13-under-par 275 on Sunday to go along with Saturday's 7-under-par 281 to pull away with an 18-stroke victory over Mississippi Gulf Coast (283-291—574). Host Copiah-Lincoln placed third with a two-day 594 (300-294) on the 6,745-yard, par-72 layout.
For EMCC, Hamilton's Stone Tipton (80-81) and Eli Hemphill of Caledonia (79-82) tied for 32nd place overall to lead the Lions. Calhoun City's Coleman Suber (83-79—162) finished in 35th place, while New Hope High School product Dylan Cash (86-88—174) and Greenwood's Kayden Riding (101-91—192) placed 42nd and 44th, respectively.
Isaiah Jackson, of Meridian CC, followed an opening-round 67 with a 6-under-par 66 on Sunday to overtake Mississippi Gulf Coast's Jackson Wedgeworth (65-72—137) and secure medalist honors by four shots. Meridian's Will Kidder was third with a two-day total of 140 (71-69).
Coach Benji Williams' East Mississippi golf team will conclude fall competition on Sunday, Oct. 22 by hosting a scrimmage event at Lion Hills in Columbus.
