East Mississippi Community College to host “Meet the Lions” football event Wednesday in Scooba
In advance of next week’s season football opener, the reigning national champion and preseason No. 1-ranked Lions of East Mississippi Community College will take part in a “Meet the Lions” event Wednesday evening (Aug. 22) on the Scooba campus. Festivities are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan-Windham Field.

For the fifth time in the last seven years, East Mississippi Community College will kick off the upcoming football season as the nation’s No. 1-ranked team in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Preseason Football Rankings, as selected by the NJCAA Football Committee and announced Wednesday by the recently relocated national office now headquartered in Charlotte, N.C.
