East Mississippi Community College to host “Meet the Lions” football event Wednesday in Scooba

In advance of next week’s season football opener, the reigning national champion and preseason No. 1-ranked Lions of East Mississippi Community College will take part in a “Meet the Lions” event Wednesday evening (Aug. 22) on the Scooba campus. Festivities are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan-Windham Field.

For their respective efforts in helping lead East Mississippi Community College to the school’s fourth national football championship in seven years this past season, sophomores Duke Upshaw and Taylor Crabtree have earned 2017 NJCAA All-America honors.  The NJCAA’s Football All-Americans, as chosen by the NJCAA Football Committee, were announced Tuesday.
