East Mississippi Community College to host “Meet the Lions” event Wednesday, Aug. 24 in Scooba
In advance of their Sept. 1 football season opener at Jones County, the preseason No. 1-ranked Lions of East Mississippi Community College will take part in a “Meet the Lions” event this Wednesday evening on the Scooba campus. Festivities are set to begin at 7 p.m. at EMCC’s Sullivan-Windham Field.
SCOOBA – In advance of their Sept. 1 football season opener at Jones County, the preseason No. 1-ranked Lions of East Mississippi Community College will take part in a "Meet the Lions" event this Wednesday evening (Aug. 24) on the Scooba campus. Festivities are set to begin at 7 p.m. at EMCC's Sullivan-Windham Field.
Along with members of the Lions football team and coaching staff being introduced individually, EMCC's Mighty Lion Band and cheerleading team will perform during the scheduled one-hour event. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
Coach Buddy Stephens' EMCC Lions will open the 2016 football season with road contests at MACJC South Division foes Jones County (Sept. 1) and preseason fourth-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast (Sept. 8). The three-time national champions will then kick off their home slate on Thursday, Sept. 15 in Scooba by playing host to Northeast Mississippi to begin MACJC North Division play.
