East Mississippi Community College sophomore infielder Anthony Hickman and freshman outfielder Dillon Brown have collected MACJC All-State second-team baseball honors, as selected by the head baseball coaches of the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges and announced Friday by the MACJC office.

EMCC Lions begin two-week baseball home stand by splitting with Northeast Tigers
In their first home baseball game action in more than two weeks, the Lions of East Mississippi Community College opened their current two-week home stand by collecting a Tuesday doubleheader split with Northeast Mississippi during a pair of run-rule MACJC contests played at Gerald Poole Field. EMCC bounced back from a 10-1 setback in the opener to shut out the visiting Tigers, 10-0, in the five-inning nightcap.

East Mississippi Community College collected 16 hits in a 10-2 run-rule win in the opening game to claim a home baseball doubleheader split with East Central during Sunday’s MACJC action at Gerald Poole Field. The Lions then let a 4-1 lead slip away in dropping a 7-5 nightcap decision to the Warriors.

The home-standing Bulldogs earned the twin-bill split with a 10-3 win over the Lions in the nightcap.

Due to unplayable outfield conditions at Jim Miles Field in Senatobia caused by recent steady rain, Wednesday’s scheduled baseball doubleheader between East Mississippi Community College and Northwest Mississippi has been moved to Thursday and will now be played at Gerald Poole Field on the Scooba campus.
